Maranatha Christian Church’s growth without soliciting donations was spotlighted in a Brazilian news magazine
A prominent Brazilian weekly news magazine, Veja recently featured an article on how the Maranatha Christian Church is expanding its faith community without asking for donations during services. The Church has more than 4,000 pastors and thousands of volunteer members who have chosen to serve voluntarily through faith.
The president of the Maranatha Christian Church, Pastor Gedelti Gueiros, stated that the church views ‘ministry not as a profession, but as a project of faith.’ He considers this an evolution from the concept of pastoral compensation.
Based on this and the belief that tithing is biblical, offerings are not collected during services, and no money is requested from church members.
