Many praises and experiences of definition set the tone for the two baptism services held by Maranatha Christian Church in the Boston area of Massachusetts, USA, on Feb. 16 and March 1, 2020. A total of 16 new members were baptized at the churches in Abington and Everett. The majority are youth who grew in the Lord’s presence.

At Maranatha Christian Church in Abington, 106 members and visitors gathered on Feb. 16 to witness the baptisms of eight people. Pastor Alessandro Afonso conducted the baptisms, helped by Anointed Abimael Pizoni. The brethren took part in the Lord’s Supper after the baptism.

A step further
On March 1, 180 people from the Medford and Everett churches attended the baptisms of eight new members in Everett. They also participated in the Lord’s Supper. In this service, the anointeds Abimael Pizoni and Wellington Claro assisted with the baptisms. 

At the age of 16, Lucas Andrade was born and raised in the Maranatha Christian Church. He said that in his heart there is a continuous desire to grow in the Work of the Holy Spirit.

“I’ve always wanted to go a step further, to be used in the Lord’s hand, to play instruments and sing praises. At the last youth seminar I asked for prayer and the Lord gave a spiritual gift showing that God was in control of all things in my life. My indecision and insecurity were removed, and I gave my name to be baptized. This was a good decision, because I want to remain firm in the Lord’s presence,” added Lucas.

According to Pastor Alessandro Afonso, the number of baptized and the experiences lived by the brethren show the growth of the Work of the Holy Spirit within the Boston area Maranatha Christian churches. “We see committed youth in the Lord’s presence and new lives surrendered at the Savior’s feet. Faith in the hearts of the brethren is being strengthened through experiences, healings of illnesses, through the perfecting of the understanding of the doctrine, the Sunday Bible School teachings, and the satellite broadcasts. To God’s glory, it’s a new and special moment in the lives of many members”, said the pastor.

16 batizados na área de Boston, Massachusetts

Muitos louvores e experiências de definição deram o tom dos dois cultos de batismo realizados pela Igreja Cristã Maranata na área de Boston, no estado de Massachusetts, Estados Unidos, nos dias 16 de fevereiro e 1 de março de 2020. Um total de 16 novos membros foram batizados nas igrejas de Abington e Everett, em sua maioria, jovens que cresceram na presença do Senhor.

Na Igreja Cristã Maranata de Abington, 106 membros e visitantes se reuniram no dia 16 de fevereiro para acompanhar o batismo de oito vidas. O Pastor Alessandro Afonso fez o batismo e foi auxiliado pelo Ungido Abimael Pizoni. Logo após o batismo, os irmãos participaram da Ceia do Senhor.

Um passo a mais
Em Everett, no dia 1 de março, 180 pessoas das igrejas de Medford e Everett acompanharam o batismo de mais oito novos membros e também participaram da Ceia do Senhor. Neste culto, os ungidos Abimael Pizoni e Wellington Claro auxiliaram nos batismos.

Entre o batizados, o jovem Lucas Andrade, 16, contou que nasceu e cresceu na Igreja Cristã Maranata e, em seu coração, há um desejo contínuo crescer na Obra do Espírito Santo. 

“Sempre quis dar um passo a mais, ser usado nas mãos do Senhor, tocar instrumentos, cantar louvores. No último seminário de jovens pedi oração e o Senhor concedeu um dom espiritual mostrando que Deus estava no controle de tudo na minha vida. Minha indecisão e insegurança foram tiradas e dei meu nome para o batismo. Esta foi uma boa escolha, pois quero permanecer firme na presença do Senhor”, afirmou o jovem Lucas.

De acordo com o Pastor Alessandro Afonso, o número de batizados e as experiências vividas pelos irmãos demonstram o crescimento da Obra do Espírito Santo nas igrejas Cristã Maranata na área de Boston. “Jovens têm se definido na presença do Senhor e novas vidas têm se rendido aos pés do Salvador. A fé no coração dos irmãos está fortalecida através de experiências, de curas de enfermidades, do aperfeiçoamento no entendimento da doutrina, do ensino da Escola Bíblica Dominical e das transmissões via satélite. Para a glória de Deus, este tem sido um momento novo e especial na vida de muitos membros”, ressaltou o pastor.
